Developmental Therapist

OK no self respecting PT will come to our little corner of the world. Our next choice is to have a developmental therapist. Has anyone worked with a DT before? How do they differ from a PT? Our case manager for 1st steps said it won't be as good as a PT but they will do some Physical Therapy. Any suggestions on this matter will be helpful. Our other option is to take Rosalynn to a clinic over an hour drive away from out home. This is not much of an option because one of us would have to quit our jobs and find a new one that could work around her therapy schedule. We are planning on moving this summer anyway and finicially, we can't cut it on one income.

Our dev therapist was more along the lines of an occupational therapist. she worked with milestones, using her affected arm, pretty much the same as the OT but no real ROM or physical therapy.

The devel. therapist has more of an overall knowledge of general development and may not know as much about the specifics of BPI. Can you go once a month or every couple of months to the PT? That would be better than nothing and they can focus on a home program and maybe even train the devel. therapist if they are willing to attend a few sessions.
