I had surgery for TOS. I had a rib resection. The surgeon told me after the surgery that it was amess in there and that I had some extra nerves that people don't have. Well since my surgery I have nothing but pain from my neck to my shoulder down to my elbow and across my collar bone. I can't stand to be touched or have anything there. My right arm is very weak. I have burning, numbness, shooting pains. I take neuroting, percocet & amitryiptylline right now. I had a nerve conduction study done and was told that the surgeon cut all my cervical plexus nerves. Those extra nerves he said I had weren't extra. They were needed.

Has anyone heard of anything like this before?

Extra nerves? I have never in my life heard of such a thing. You should see a specialist pronto and get you operative report.

Sorry that you have to go through this and best of luck to you.
