We are leaving for Texas in a week. Bailey has TT on April 27th. How have people altered shirts for post surgery? I have already bought a few shirts a couple sizes bigger. What have others done?
Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Re: Altering clothes for Triangle Tilt
We slit the shirt from hem to cuff (meaning the whole side of the shirt is open) and put ties (we mostly used shoe laces cut in half - we tried cording and it didn't want to stay tied) on either side.
You can see what I mean (if it isn't clear) in this album: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/vie ... &uid=19496 Scroll all the way down to see the pictures of his shirt.
I hope that this helps! If you need more pics, let me know and I'll take some of just the shirts and send them to you.

BTW, the shirts are all roughly a 10-12 and he wears a 5/6 usually. A couple of sizes bigger should be perfect.
P.S. If you have any shirts/jackets that zip up the front, I found that I could just cut a slit on the side of the splint and that worked fine. I just couldn't get a regular, non-button/zip up shirt over his head *and* over the splint since it sticks so far out in front, so the ties were our solution to that. Again, if you want a pic of this, I'm happy to take one for you.

I have a large amount of clothing already altered for my 9 year old. They're yours if you wish. There are a few long sleeved tops, but also many short sleeved. She had her surgery in November. You can mail me if you want them shipped to you!

Our son, Cody 2 yrs old, had TT in Texas on February 23rd, 2006. We purchased shirts 2 sizes bigger and we slit the side from cuff to hem, as well, but we used velcro and a little extender piece for the under the forearm and it worked great, didn't come apart or anything. Hope all goes well, we wish you luck.

Re: Altering clothes for Triangle Tilt
My daughter, Peyton was 5 years old at the time of her triangle tilt. We didn't know what to expect before surgery, so we just used bigger shirts, cut the seam up from the waist, then tied the ends in a knot while we were down there. When we got home, we used velcro to hold the shirt together.
