Still waiting for a final diagnosis....

Hi, I am new to this site. I have been suffering with this problem for almost a year. I had seen many, many specialists who were mythed by my symptoms.

Finally, and unfortunately, my right shoulder girdle atrophied significantly. I have constant pain from my neck, clavicle, scapula, shoulder, arm and hand. The last Dr. I saw (Orthopedic Surgeon) is leaning toward Brachial Plexus Injury. Also, my left side is now getting bad (wonderful).

I just had an MRI of right shoulder and brachial plexus region. In another week I have an EMG.

I am freaked out by this entire thing. I am not sure if it is the constant excruciating pain that is making me lose my mind or the not having a definative diagnosis. Then to find out if it can even be fixed.

Has anyone gone thru a similar scenerio???? How did you cope? Also, any advice for me?

By the way, my injury was due to repetitive use of cardio equipment that elevated my arms.

Hey, Hopefully the EMG you'll get next week will give your doctor some results for a proper diagnosis. If it turns out to be a brachial plexus injury, get with a good trauma brachial plexus injury specialist/surgeon. There are some good doctors mentioned in these threads, so check them out...

Good Luck, Dick

Im a fireman who has been recently diagnosed with a tbpi. This is my first time visiting any sites and amazed by the all the threads. I currently am seeking new dr advise as I have seen 4-5 dr's giving me an assortment of diagnosis from bulged disk to tbri. I have extreem numbness and tingling down left arm and weakness. Diff lifting, turning head left, bendnig and especially sleeping. pain meds are horrible and make me sick and still dont take away the numbness.

The FD has manditoried me back to "light duty" office work and cut my pay. Ive been hurt since dec of 2005 with the dr telling me there is no hope or cure and nothing i can do to fix the nerve damage. Ive had emg's mri xrays.. and see physical threrapy 2-3 times a week but now work comp has said they may stop treatment due to lack of significant improvement.

Im in your same boat sounds like and im typing with one hand.... work is saying they want to retire me....

Right now my hope is prayer and that God has a plan for me.
