We are going to take our daughter to Texas to have the TT. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fund raisers? We live quite a distance from Texas. He is out of network with our insurance. Does anyone know if the deductable is required up front from Dr. Nath's office? We are trying to get in network benefits from the insurance but I haven't heard back from them. Thank you.

As far as fundraisers, you could do many different things... what about a spagetti dinner or a pancake breakfast? Those seem to be great! maybe you could get friends and family to donate the food... just a thought.

As far as finances... CALL HIS OFFICE! I cant stress this enough! They are the ONLY ones the have the right answer there.

I didn't do this as a fund raiser but several people asked why i didn't...I got those silicone bracelets made up saying BPI AWARENESS and the other side had my daughters name on it. They cost us less than $1 a piece and you could sell them starting at $3 or donation (which people usually give more). If she does require surgery down the road I will definately order more. That's a great idea! We should have some made and wear them so we could educate people when they ask about the bracelet. Great for raising funds and awareness. Kill two birds with one stone...great idea!

It looks like you can get imprinted ones for about $1. You have to order 250 for 250 dollars. The embossed ones are more. But I think you can actually see what's written on the imprinted ones better anyway. It would be a good fundraiser if you knew you could sell 250 of them. Hope this helps!

I don't mean to be the wet blanket here, but fundraising with out the proper tax status can be a problem.

I would tread carefully here. Any money you raise is technically income.

I would try other ways to look to reduce the cost of this (like Courtney says, call his office).

As a last effort, check with some other docs to see if they have a surgery that could help, but are either in network or are cost-free.

When I help people who are doing support groups, the concept of fundraising is a major issue.
