I need help/opinions please

Today I had an EMG and it showed the nerves were not healed like the doctors said they were a year ago.So now besides that,I somehow have new injury to the BP on top of that.Plus I was told the shoulder itself needs to be looked into more because the damage to the nerves, does not add up to why I once again have no range.Im so confused on what these doctors are trying to tell me.This injury at work was 4.5 years ago and STILL no one has a clue whats going on.Any ideas? The Orthopedic says its the nerves, the first Neuro doctor says there healed, and the new doctor today, says its both.

Are the neuro doctors you're seeing very familar with tbpi's?
If not, I think it may be prudent to seek out a tbpi specialist for some realistic answers and a diagnosis.
Good luck.... Dick

Hi Null,
Hope everythings as good as can be!I am fairly new to the tbpi seen.My accident was in Oct.2005.
Sounds like you have a Dr. as qualified as mine. =( You've come to the right place for advice.Look around for post similar to your situation and give them a read.
If you're in the states there are fou places I know of that specialize in tbpi.(Someone correct if wrong ty).Dr. Nath in Texas,The TEAM at Mayo in Mn.,A hospital in Ny, and one in Ca.Not sure of their names.
Put the ball in your court and DO YOUR RESEARCH!!
Also look at tpbi group in the UK.Great forum!!!
Look for post from Liz,Jennyb,Ellen,Pricilla Morgan,Mikeyb.Cant name everyone, these are people that have helped me BIG TIME.
Any question you can think of,just ask.Good luck Null.Hope this helps some!!

Don't know where you're at but I would go to the Mayo clinic in MN. Or see one of the others that specialize in BP, that may be closer to you. Some Dr's think they do, but these really do. My son had an EMG with his Dr here, but the one at Mayo was way more indepth, 2 1/2 hours. They were able to give us better info. Fortunatly our Dr's here were able to say they did not have the expertise in this area.

Null,

To the short list I'd also add Dr. Allen Belzburg at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore MD. He is highly respected by the Mayo Clinic specialists & they often refer patients to each other. Belzburg doesn't tend to have as much a backlog as Mayo either.

Where do you live? Who have you been seeing?

Thanks,

Ellen

Thanks for the responses. I live in Wisc.I was to the Mayo clinic 6 months after the accident in 2001.There EMG showed the nerves were regenerating. The 3rd visit there they said there was no need to do these anymore and my Orth in Wisc should look into the shoulder.Which he never did.Thats what I mean when I said that the doctors couldnt agree on the problem and now Im told the nerves are not healed.I cant believe I (after almost 5 years)havent gotten a straight answer.

Hi, I also live in WI, just outside of Eau Claire.
Did you receive an email from Brenda Copeland-Moore about the Summer Family BPI Gathering for Wisconsin. I have OBPI to my right arm.
