My two year anniversary

Yesterday was my 2nd anniversary. To give hope to many of you-- I have improved a lot the first year and small amounts the second year-- I went from a flaccid- useless arm to now a hand that can bend a little. I strongly believe that the physical therapy sessions were key on the improvements. I exercise my arm and hand daily — hopeful that full recovery is possible. There is hope--MD says will probably be another two years before return of full use if ever. I was a little depressed on hearing that this week-- but decided to keep the positive outlook and look at how far I have come through this injury.

I wanted to post to mark my time and let you know how much the board means to me. I really appreciate all the help you provided early on and continue to provide to everyone.

There are many days when I tune in to the board for a check up and reminder to do the work to do the PT.

For those new to my name as w/ the new system, I haven’t been a frequent board poster— but I have been reading—
My BPI was the result of cardiac surgery done 3/10/00. The heart came through fine— my arms did not. The right one was mildly affected and the left arm was severely affected as noted above.

Rita I hope things will get better for you. It is so depressing to get bad news...The good news is that you seem to have a positive out look...I'm sorry for the things you have lost...Hugs and prayers to you!
Love,
T.

Well i hope it was a happy anniversary Rita, stay positive and good luck!
PS - a trick i find useful to maintain motivation for therapy is to minimise 'normal' PT which is dull at best but incorporate something more intersting like certain sports, (some more possible than others) then you can get the necessary PT but kid yourself it's not therapy just fun :O)
