My daughter will be having surgery with Dr.Kozin on May 4th. We go back for two weeks of therapy starting May 30 thru June 9th. I was wondering if anybody has had to stay up there for the two weeks and what did they do for transportation?

Thanks,
Janalee

Janalee,
My son will be there getting his cast of around 6/1 and we'll be traveling down for therapy, maybe we can meet for lunch. We live about 1.5 hours away so we commute.

We just got back 10 days ago from our "cast off/therapy visit" We were there for 5 days for surgery trip and 7 for the return. We were scheduled to stay at Ronald Mcdonald house but decided to stay at the Holiday inn at the last minute becuase I was comfortable there. I am glad we did, one wrong turn in Camden puts you in not very nice places.(it happened when we went to the aquarium)And there is a lot of construction there right now. We had a great trip! We rented a car with a GPS (we used alamo and if you book online they have great deals.I rented a suv as I drive a 15 passenger van all the time but a smaller car will be less than 200$ a week) and explored the whole area. We were finished with therapy before noon everyday and we spent the afternoon exploring. We went to the usual tourist spots, and to the Crayola factory (an ot dreamland!),Valley Forge. We spent one snowy day having lunch at the City Tavern. It is within walking distance of Liberty Bell Plaza. There is so much to do over the week and you don't have the stress of surgery. Next to the Holiday inn is a tgiFridays, Olive Garden and little local restuarants and coffee houses. It is also right up the road from Mannyunk which is touristy and full of shopping. The brewery there is right on the water and Lizzie said the mac and cheese is great. I'm sorry to ramble...we had such a positive experience. If you would like the nitty gritty details like cost let me know, for some reason the rates went up at the Holiday Inn...happy planning!
