Does anyone know of any agencies that help figure out insurance problems? Is this something you have to get through yourself or hire an attorney? Seems like there should be and Insuance Agency Advocate program or something???

I believe that there is a Dept of Insurance office in every state to help people deal with insurance problems. Unfortunately, ours wasn't very helpful in the past and I always got voice mail and no calls back. However, I did find our State Attny General's office to be very helpful. They should have an individual(s) who specifically work with people having insurance problems. Sometimes just having them get in contact with the insurance co. is enough to get a more willing and helpful attitude by the insurance co. -- esp. these days when the health insurance co's get such bad press for all the things that they deny. So, check in your blue pages under the state attny general's office and there s/b a listing that would include an office for insurance issues. It's like getting free legal assistance. I hope this helps.

P.S. You could hire an attny who specializes in these problems, but I would try the other leads first since they're no cost to you. -Tina
