My son, Cody, ROBPI, 2 yrs. old on 2/4/06 will be having the Triangle Tilt surgery on Feb. 23, being performed by Dr. Nath. Any suggestions or thoughts from those of you whose children have had this surgery would be greatly appreciated.

My son, Michael (age 4.75) just had this surgery last week.
I was very concerned about clothing and in the end, what we have found works t she best is to slit the entire side - cuff to hem - and them place a few ties (the best we have found is shoe laces cut in half and sewed to each side) We should have made the sleeves a little shorter, since the shirt is bigger than his normal size (he wears a 4/5 and these are 10/12s), but we just folded them back. If you want to see pics, they are in the bottom of this album:

Also, if there is anyone else having the same surgey that week, my son really seemed to appreciate seeing someone else who "looked like him"
Good luck! The 1st night was a little rough for us, but by 24 hours after surgery, I was having to ask him to stop running and climbing on things.
Any questions, feel free to email me. I'll try to help.
Sally

My daughter (age 7) is having the scapular ostectomy that day. It will be out-patient, but Natalie would probably love to meet Cody if our paths cross. Although she hasn't had the TT, there have been other procedures where creativity was needed for her post-op wardrobe. Slitting the sides of a larger sized shirt is what worked best for us. Instead of ties, I used adhesive Velcro tabs.
