Hello everyone,
Name is Wes i posted a few times and read the boards daily. I was injuried June 6, 2004 and had surgery Nov. 10, 2004. It looked like i had avulions to c5 c6 and maybe c7. Surgeon told me probably won't have deltoids rotator cuff and tricep. 1 month after surgery in Nov. i started to get triceps. And today it has gotten stronger and i now can bend my elbow to almost 85 degrees. I have and had fingers, i can not straighten my fingers all the wat and can bend wrist down and pull it back to neutral. Question i have is do i stand a chance at getting some of the muscles that i currently not have beings this is still a fairly new injury it will be 2 years in june but nerves only heal a inch a month. AM I A CANDIDATE for more reconstructive surgery on my shoulder to get me stability and some more mobility. I want more mobility but i am happy with stability, i am just to happy to be alive and not want to be selfish. can anyone give your opinion on my injury and sucess i may get. Hi there. The only person who can answer that question is a tbpi specialist, it looks like with what you already have there might be hope for more function one way or another but I'm not a doctor. Check with one of the tbpi groups such as the Mayo Clinic in Mn or Dr Kline's group in Louisiana. Good luck with your bpi journey :0)

I guess the question i am trying to ask is do i look to reconstructive surgery on my wrist and shoulder or do i just continue with my therapy and stay relaxed with the waiting game because of what is starting to come back and the strength i am gaining in the muscles that are starting to work again. My neurosurgeon is confident that the nerves are healed to the elbow and we have to wait for the rest of the lower arm to heal to see what i am gonna have back. since the nerves are healed to the elbow and do not have much gain the shoulder as far as deltoids and rotator cuff muscles can i still regain them back. Can anyone answer those questions?
