Been checking the boards but haven't felt like posting the last few days. Still stewing!!!! Michaela's teacher refuses to take Michaela to the clinic.They felt pullups was a step backward and I agreed. She's back in panties. No more accidents. The teacher still will not help her either and got mad at me because Michaela wanted to wear overalls tuesday and since they were supposed to helping her, I let her for a change. Just 2 buttons . You'd think I committed a cardinal sin!She was also going to get her splint raised after school so I figured it might be a good idea so she could cover her chest with the bib while the therapist heated and changed the splint. They have her in a large common area when they do this and last time she was embarrassed and kept trying to cover herself. The teacher said it was for spite!! Anyway this is just a VERY BRIEF summary of what has been going on with school. The O.T. hooked me up with a parent advocate and she told me that the child's rights always supercede the teacher's rights. She's going to help me get an IEP( which they said Michaela wasn't eligible for) and 504 plan.

In the mean time, I haven't found aqutherapy around here, but my Mom goes to a therapeutic pool for excercise classes and they have open swim time. They said I could bring Michaela during open swim time and have the therapist come with us and do therapy in the water. Her O.T. agreed to do this. So we'll put her arm down for the first time in 2 weeks in the water like I wanted. They keep the water between 92 and 94 degrees and I think I might check out the aquacise for myself. I had to have the doctor fill out a consent form for both of us but it's only ten dollars a year and we can keep working in the water if we want.
Spring break starts tommorrow so at least I don't have to deal with school and teacher for the next 10 days.

Here's a hug for you. Keep fighting it. I am a teacher myself (high school) and it amazes me how some teacher and schools treat IEP's I deal mainly with students IEP's for learning disablities, but I do everything I can and even go to the special services teachers and say, "Next case conference could we try to get this into the IEP it will really help the student" Boy do I get the cold shoulder! I am sorry the teacher you deal with is so stupid about the whole situation! I wish people like that would get out of teaching and stop giving the rest of us a bad name. Keep your chin up and now that we are praying for you and your little one!

So sorry to hear that things are still rotten, I hope you kick some a... when the school year is over. I wonder how that teacher can look at herself in the mirror, what a miserable witch! Hugs to you and your daughter, and I hope you never have to put up with this kind of treatment from another teacher again!
