I was wondering if anyone with BPI also has bladder/kidney/bowel movement problems. Our 6 year old daughter has problems and the doctor is thinking
that it is related to stretching of her spinal cord at birth that also caused her BPI. I just want to talk to someone for some advice.

I cant help much with the advice but our daughter has always had problems with constipation and she is 2.5 now. I have often wondered if somehow it were related as no diet changes or medication has really seemed to improve it much? Please post if you find anything interesting?
Oh, I also recall her having slightly elevated liver enzymes when they did a blood test on her related to the constipation.

Gibber,
My daughter Katie, 3, LOBPI, has all of the above. She was diagnosed with vesicouretal reflux at like 18 months. She had surgery for that in April of 05. Due to the reflux she has damage to both of her kidneys, but primarily to the right kidney which is currently functioning at only about 20%. She has also recently been put on a medication for constipation although a few of her doctors are debating about the source of that. No one has ever conected her BPI to her bladder/kidney/bowel problems, but I have wondered if there is a connection. I'd be glad to share my experiences. Please feel free to e-mail me or post back.
I hope the doctor can determine the source of your daughters problems and more importantly can correct and/or treat them. I will keep you in my prayers.
