Hyperbarics

Hello all,
I was curious if anyone has used hyperbaric therapy. I ran into an old friend while checking out "Jarhead" this weekend. Great flick by the way. I did not know he had suffered a TBPI years ago in a parachute accident. He is a former SEAL. He utilized the hyperbaric therapy and is a strong believer in its healing properties. I researched it on the net and found a lot of information, particularly on tests the Air Force has performed. Everything I have read thus far is only positive.

Thanks for posting this. I'd never heard of this before and it sounds quite interesting, I'm looking forward to researching it in greater detail. I'm curious what your old friend thought of "Jarhead", being a Navy SEAL. I thought it t be a worthy film, but am always curious how people who have 'been there, done that' feel when they see part of their life's experience, especially when it's life or death, told on the big screen... anyway thanks again.

Null,
Here is one of the references regarding Air Force studies. http://www.hbot4u.com/brain57.html
Christopher,
I wrote you email but don't think you received it. Wanted to see how your consultation went with Dr. Filler. I have to go back Jan. 4th for post op follow up.

Mike,
I saw him and have run a couple of more tests, EMG & MR Neurography, to see if there were any options left in regards to the pain. He seems to think something doesn't add up with my diagnoses, I shouldn't have any sensation in the palm of my hand and I do... who knows. I'm due for my follow up soon, but haven't heard from him. Keep us posted on your progress. Have a good Thanksgiving.

Sorry to say I didn't get that email. Here's my address just in case

Mike if you give this a try, fill us in on the experience.

Hope you're healing well.

Hey Chris,
I have had 10 sessions with the hyperberic therapy, and I am continuing to go. I have been doing 1.5 hour sessions. I am feeling better every day, and I am getting more strength in my shoulder. I feel like the biceps and triceps are beginning to innervate, but no flexion in the elbow yet. I am now 2 mos post surgery. I can't confirm if the HBOT is helping, or if the reinnervation is purely from the surgery. Probably both. Anyway, thanks for asking. I'll be at Dr. Filler's Jan. 4th.
