Re: Boston...forearm osteotomy???
I only have experience of Dr. Waters as a doctor but we've had no surgery- I feel he is awesome! Prayers and good wishes coming your way. Fight that insurance!! You will win!! God Bless
Re: Boston...forearm osteotomy???
Louise,
We just came back from BCH this past weekend. My son Justin is 21/2 and had tendon transfer surgery with Dr.Waters on 2/28. Dr.Waters had advised us previously that he may have to do an osteotomy instead of the tendon transfer because of a significant deformity that he saw on the MRI. After examining him the day before surgery he felt that he could do the tendon transfer. There is an article that Dr.Waters wrote that refers to osteotomies vs. tendon transfers. I had posted about a month ago under the subject "osteotomy" and someone forwarded the article. If you want more info, email me and I can give you more info. Dr.Waters and BCH were wonderful. They do use a Spika cast which is a hard cast that can not be removed. 5 more weeks until it comes off. Can't wait. Melissa
