I haven't posted any messages or replied in a while. My son Brandon will be getting the Triangle Tilt with Dr.Nath on Oct.12. Any input on this would be great, such as clothes, recovery, reacton of the child, traveling, anything. Brandon does not do well with doctors. The MRI testing was a horror. EMG is next. Brandon is in 2nd grade so he'll be getting home instruction. Thanks

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I hate EMG's can they use Emla cream before the test?
Do they use pediatric needles.
I have had EMG in both arms and both legs... and that will be a rough one for you. See if they will use the Emla cream it will numb the spots the needles will be placed into.

Re: Triangle Tilt/
I don't blame him.
When I was a child the doctor had to chase me under the table to give me a shot.
So when I had to have my blood test to get married he would not let me pay for our blood tests... LOL....
He said it was the first time I ever sat still for a needle....LOL.. in 24 years... LOL....
I hope the test goes well.

Re: Triangle Tilt/
Hi, my son had the triangle tilt july 28th.
we have been out of the splint for 1 week now and he looks great. He is really tight, but we started therapy yesterday and that should start working the tightness out. My son is 8 and also in 2nd grade. Not to scare you, but the emg was a horrible experience for us. It went fine until it was time for the botox injection, that's when it went bad and it was just because of Peyton's fear of the needle. We actually had to leave the appointment and then go back. Peyton was fine the second time that we went back. He did'nt stick needles though, I remember him just taking a pin and poking it around peytons arms to see where he had sensation. I have before and after pictures if you would like to see them, just email me. For clothes we just used tank tops 2 sizes bigger and did'nt even cut them, we just pulled them down as far as they would go. As far as recovery, the day of surgery, after the surgery Peyon felt pretty bad, he got sick all that day, from the anestethia I guess. But the next day he was good to go. Still had some pain but was better.
