Does your child use a rolling backpack in school? Our school does not allow them but I am sure that with a dr's note it will be ok. Just wondering how many use a rolling backpack.

My son uses one, and I did have to get a dr's note to allow it. My son wears a uniform to school too and they require that if your pants have belt loops in them, you have to wear a belt. He can't undo the belt using only one hand so we had to get a dr's note for that too.

Michaela has always used a rolling backpack so when she went to a new school last year that didn't allow them we had to get a doctors note. It's not good for their shoulders to carry that weight. She is going to be nine in October and this past year has started having problems with overuse of her right arm to the point of her right shoulder dislocating. She is LOBPI. Better to get the doctors note whether you need it or not so the school/teachers know how serious you are about the "no backpack on the shoulders" issue.

Oh, the rolling backpack issue.....last year the principal would not allow them.....her floors were to precious....(what about my kids arm) I asked about a Dr's Note she said no.....so I made her miserable. I sat in front of the school and made a list of children with rolling backbacks...hey if my son that needed one couldn't have one no one else could. We have since bought a house and my son will be able to have a rolling back pack and he will....even though he is only in second grade I dread the day someone would come up behind him and pull him down using his backpack....I think that could be ugly

Louise- I can't say anything in response to that except for, "You Go Girl!!" lol
I am going through something now with the school system for my older son who is not injured. Just too smart for kindergarten, lol.
