Therapeutic Riding at Camp!

We are pleased to announce that we will feature hippotherapy at camp this year. Through the efforts of Sharon Gavagan, whose daughter Tess has been involved in a hippotherapy program for the last year, we have secured a therapeutic riding instructor, Jean Paul Pare, who will discuss this form of therapy and demonstrate its use.

We will have four horses at camp (weather permitting) and there will be an opportunity for kids and adults to experience the horses as part of the demonstration.

Tess, who has won several blue ribbons in the past year with her 4-H group -- Spurs and Stirrups -- will demonstrate her technique of working with her horse, Suzy.

This is going to be a very exciting aspect of Camp this time.

Thanks Sharon and Tess!

John,

I am bringing a camera and I am sure a lot of others will also. Nancy, do I get to pick the pictures for our next issue of Outreach?

John,

I am going to bring a camera.

Of course if riding a horse is anything like staying in a canoe, wonder who will stay on and who won't.

I think I'll stick to taking pictures this year and leave the horses for the BPI's. Too bad Nancy won't be able to test her balance - she's very alergic to horses.

Allergic to horses? We don't plan on eating them, that must be an Ohio type of thing!
