Just thought I would do a quick update on Kyle's progress. He had his follow-up appointment with Dr Nath in April, and Dr Nath suggested using botox for the tricep. He said the tricep was taking over and stopping the bicep from trying to work. He could tell the bicep was trying to work, but just couldn't because the tricep would just take over. He also said this made it harder for his brain to relearn how to use his bicep. So, after consultations & correspondence with Dr Nath he had the injection last Monday by a local doctor. And, last night he was carrying in some pop and he said it felt like his bicep was trying to work more. He has therapy today so we'll see if she notices any difference. He is also up to lifting 3-lbs with his bp arm - this is laying down flat with his arm against his side. This is a big accomplishment - just a few months ago he could only bend his arm if someone was holding it at about 45 degrees. He still can't lift it against gravity (if he is standing up, he can't bend his arm). But, we are really hoping the botox works like Dr Nath said. He said it lasts 3-4 months, and he may need another injection we'll just have to wait and see. But, the botox cost $1400!! Our insurance has denied it, but the doctor here said they should pay for it so he is fighting it for us. Well, that's about all from here - just thought I'd do a quick update!! And, if anyone else has gotten a botox injection I'd like to hear what your results were!

Jess, Thanks for the e mail. Ill write you back soon. Im glad youre back posting here. Im so glad Kyle is doing so well. I know it must be a boost for him too. Sorry I dont have any info about botox for you. Were not that far yet with James. I hope someone has some answers for you.

YEAH!!!! I am glad to hear this!!! Tell Kyle to keep up the good work! We are all rooting for him! I go see Dr. Nath the end of the month to see whats next for me!!!
