Hello

Post by AndreaJack »

Hello everyone. I am Andrea. I am married to Chad and we live in IL. I have a 2 year old son, Jack, ROBPI, and a 1 year old daughter, Madeline. Jack has had 2 surgeries so far. He had the mod quad last September and the triangle tilt in May. He will be coming out of his splint next week. I have read posts in the past, but now feel like I can post also. I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Andrea. Welcome! How is Jack dealing with all of this? How about Madeline? You must be very busy!!
Have you used the online registry here? You may be able to find other families near you.
Keep us posted on Jack's progress.

Take care!

Hi Andrea

I'm new here too - lovely to meet you.

I'm Kathy and I live in the UK with my partner and 3 kids, the oldest (now 10) has a right Erb's Palsy.

I'm amazed by the amount of knowledge US mums have about their child's precedures and even which nerves are damaged. Over here I've basically been told Erb's Palsy and have yet to learn about what nerves were damaged and what all these procedures mean. My son had exploratory surgery and scar tissue removed at 3 months, and has had two sub scapular releases since. That's all I know about, and to be honest I don't even know a lot about that!

Anyhoo, I'm waffling on, lovely to meet you.

Hi Andrea!

Welcome to the boards. I hope you find this group to be as helpful and welcoming as I have found it to be over the years.

I'm Cherie, wife to Jason, and mom to Sarah (2 1/2 - ROBPI). Sarah has had the MQ and will have the Triangle Tilt in August.

I'll look forward to getting to know you!

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Hi Andrea & Kathy M

Welcome to UBPN Message Boards. You will find a great deal of support here and and I am sure will be able to give a great deal of support as new families arrive seeking information.

I am Kathleen M... aka KathyM aka Kath... I finally settled on Kath for my sign in because when I first came to UBPN there were so many kathy's and Kathleen's... LOL...When I settled on Kath... I said I will never change my name again... LOL... I am getting to old and might forget who I am. Besides most of my friends just call me Kath ... My family still use Kathleen.

I am on the Board of Directors of UBPN and right OBPI. Married for almost 40 years three children and 5 grandchildren... I live in NY
