Swollen Fingers

Post by admin »

Why do the fingers swell so bad on the BPI hand? Have any of you talked to your Drs. about it?

Priscilla, if James fingers are hanging down (no sling) and he cant bend his arm, there is lack of blood flow, the blood stays in the fingers and they swell! Mine get HUGE after a long day of shopping and what not. Massaging them really helps. Another thing that i used to wear was a compression glove. Check here they are CHEAP http://www.wisdomking.com/line80025.html These goves are great for a bit of pain controll as well. I do wear mine occassionally at night sometimes. Let me know how you get on with this.....

Thanks Courtney. That was such an obvious explanation, I guess I just didnt think of his arm hanging all day, that could be the cause. He has a therapy appt. this week and Ill ask his therapist about the glove. They are fitting him for a brace for his hand now, for his fingers and palm, basically, but Ill be sure to ask.
