Hey guys, its been 2 months since surgery and no movement as yet.I was getting down a fair bit just hanging around at home feeling sorry fore myself until i found this site and it has helped me so much. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who chats on here as i listened to what you have said and got out and finally did some fishing. We went out sea for the first time in about 4 months and i had a bloody ball, i actually felt alive again. We didnt get much fish on board but seen a few sharks hanging around so that was exciting. So thank you for making me realise just because my arm doesnt work i havent got to stop doing what i love. Thank you all.
DEAN

Hi Dean, glad to hear that you are getting things back on track. I am 20 years old and received my right bpi 12 months ago this Sunday 8th May. Lovely mothers day present for my mum wasn't it. Looking back over the last 12 months I suppose you wonder how you will get through it and think seriously about how your life has changed and how things have changed for your family as well. I too am grateful for these boards because initially they were my life line and helped myself and my family cope with what was going on. Looking back I have achieved so much in these last 12 months and still have so much more to achieve. I too have gone back to fishing, I am doing hydrotherapy, going to school and studying real estate (in order to get a new career), have not stopped going out with my mates, since my surgery last August I have slight improvement in my arm with hopefully a lot more to come and have had the great pleasure of making some wonderful friends through these boards.....especially my now adopted big brother Jamie and his wife Gina.
I have learnt to do so much with just the use of one arm and have not and am determined not to let it stop me from doing anything. It just takes me a little bit longer to achieve the outcome. Hang in there Dean don't let anything stand in your way. Have a look on the bpi photo site there are some pictures of my with the fish I have caught. Feel free to email me anytime.....regards Michael.
