Other Problem's with BPI?

Hello, I am the mother of an 8 - month - old boy with a BPI to his left arm. He currently sees two occupational therapists, as well as a pediatric neurologist. He has had some difficulty learning to sit unsupported, but he has finally gotten it. However, one of his therapists commented that he tends to hold his head to one side. She also thinks there might be something else wrong with his injured hand, which he keeps in a fist most of the time. His neurologist strongly disagrees with her, but I am unsure. Did anyone else's child have difficulty learning to sit, and/or did they have any neck problems? Thanks so much.

Hello,
My daughter is now 10 and a half months old and is sitting up fine on her own. She had a mod quad surgery at 7 and a half months old.
Did you take your child to a specialist?
The right therapist helps. Trust me it makes a difference. The range of motions are important as long as the correct ones are being done.
My daughter used to keep her hand in a tight fist before this surgery and her wrist would droop downard.
We had to get a Benik splint for her wrist and therapy.
She no longer needs to wear her splint. Her wrist is straight now while in the reseting position.
My daughter had torticollis but with the help of my new therapist she is fine now.
The most important thing is to see the right specialist and therapist. Do be afraid. The children have a great chance of getting fixed with the correct help.
