Can anyone recommend surgeons in NYC for adults. This site lists Scot Wolfe at HSP and two doctors who appear to be pediatric specialists, Rick Abbot and Andrew Price. Any experience with them or others? Where can I get this type of information?

I have a plexus injury that required surgery. I am from Jersey and saw Wolfe and then Manniker. I realy liked Wolfe and thought that I would stick with him. My nephew is a doctor and he insisted that I go to John Hopkin for an opinion. Saw Dr. Belzberg at Hopkin and he said exactly the same thing as Wolfe. You would have thought they must have looked at the same text book just before seeing me.
Anyways, I did get operated on by Belzberg because I have family in Baltimore and they also feel that Hopkin is the best in the world. I would have been just as happy going to Wolfe.

By the way, it is not as bad as I thought it would be . There is no that much pain after surgery and you do heal up fast. It takes several months for the nerves to start working again and I am not a patient person.

So, you will do fine with Wolfe, enough said.

As to surgeons, anyone of the people on the UBPN site are great!

As to the posting response by Richard, hello there! I think you and I had follow up appointments the same day at Hopkins. Hard to forget your Jersy accent. I hope you forgive me for the which exit on the Pike do you live on comment I made.

You were doing considerably better than me. I like the fact that you say you are not a patient person. I only had my surgery a few months ago but I sure hope to get as much recovery as you have. When you first bent your two arms I could not tell which one had been operated on. Anyways, it was great meeting you in the waiting room and I hope we run into each other again.

Again, all of the surgeons on the UBPN site are great and I think Richard would agree with me that Belzberg has done a super job for us

I think I may have said those comments a little wrong in my post. Eric, I sure do remember you and I do hope you recover as well as I have.

Believe me that I am very grateful to Dr. Belzberg for the outstanding result I have. I was just trying to reassure dkddie that he will also do well with Wolfe.

When I first met with Belzberg and told him I was from Jersey and that I had seen Wolfe, he said that I would do just as well with Wolfe as with him. That was one of the things I liked about Belzberg, he was quick to compliment other doctors, something I rarely hear.

So, dkddie, stick with any of the good docs talked about, and Eric, one day I will tell you which exit I am on the Pike

Dr Wolfe is amazing. He has done both of my surgeries. Dr. Maniker was involved in my TOS surgery.

They are both very personable and caring about their patients.

Dr Price is a great surgeon I think you should also check Dr Grossman.
They both are specialists in adults and children. If you need more info try their website.
