taking photos -

I was taking some photos of the last snowfall of the season ( I hope & pray). I noticed that all of my photos are crooked... LOL... I noticed it from time to time and would make an effort to make sure I found a line to level the photo...
Now of course I realize all camara's have the button on the right side. I can get it to my eye but because I cannot really hold my arm that way it drags the camara down and I have a tilt to the right on all my photos... anyone else notice that? I use the camara like I use my unaffected hand to lift my arm up.. Darn I wish they would but the button in the middle so those of us who must use our left hands can do it one handed...

Kath, I laughed for the longest time, I always had a finger in the picture! My friends would always laugh, "Courtney must have taken that one" Then when I went to the UK this past summer, Liz took a picture of Amy and I. I went to look at it and it was upside down! She said she has always done that as she is RTBPI also! I thought that was hilarious! So any pictures on my film from over there that were upside down, she took for us!

Cameras are made for rightys, as is everything else in life! I Used to be a righty so I did get to enjoy it but now I dont! I use my notebooks for school upside down too, that way my hand does not rub on the spiral! hahaha

I never even thought of taking it upside down!
I bet it was one of those things I was not allowed to do! I grew up with the force the kids to use the arm as much a possible... since I had some hand movement they probably thought it was best... LOL... but I am a grown up and now I think I will try so I can have some straight photos... I am probably the only one that notices... and it took me forever to notice all of my old photos are crooked... LOL... LOL...

Kath:
You're right on about crooked pictures!! I always have to remind myself to keep the object level and even then I move the frame trying keep things steady while snapping the picture. Frustrating sometimes but these days digital cameras give the option of a do-over.

I like the up side down trick. I'll try that next time.

It is funny when you think about it. I did not really notice until I took some photos( over 300) for an artist in our town. He had his painting in the Library and wanted to have photos of his paintings before he sold them. I offered to do take the pictures for him and then realized that I had to adjust each and every photo... I could tell the frames were all tilted... It only took 60 some odd years to realize why??? I guess I am a slow learner... lol...

I alway take my pictures upside down because I can't hold the camera and take the picture at the same time with out getting a part of my hand in the picture because I am a robpi and cameras are made for righties.

WOW!! We learn every day. Yes, Kath you now have permission to use your other hand to take pictures! Also, thanks for the clue to take upsidedown....

I've always stayed away from using cameras because I always got my finger from my left hand in the picure...

Yes Carrie...1 other thing we OBPI's have had to put up with! But the good news is, we have all made "acommadations" & it really helps to share them. When I read them, I think "yeah, that works...yay!!!"

Love to all,
Carolyn J

I tried to take photos upside down... can't do it!
The button to take the photos is right under my thumb on the left hand and I just keep clicking away...

I cannot lift my right arm up so I hold the camera in both hands and the left hand lifts- just the same as if I wanted to touch my head I would use my left arm to lift my right hand up... so I still drag it to the right because the right arm is just really hanging on to the camera and I need my finger on that hand to snap the photo! Good thing I can adjust them when I download them to the computer... LOL... Maybe I will do a whole photo albmum full of tilted photos... LOL...
