Lisa,
Northern California? What??? Something wrong with southern California? Just cause we all think we're movie stars and can't get into that tree-hugging thing? Your gonna hold that against us? Somebody has to drive those Hummers and Beemers, and drink all that cafe latte, right? Not that I'm cenical or anything, just a native Califonian. So, where's the party? The wine country?? The redwoods? How about that park where they do the Bay to Breakers run in San Francisco? We could go to Sacramento and see Arnold in his most recent roll( Terminator 4- The Govenator). I'm open...so whats it gonna be? Wait..gotta go, my cell phones ringing, I think its my agent....Karl...

Hi Karl,
Nothing against So Cal, it's just that there is already a regularly scheduled, well-established one in San Diego each year. This year I think it is on August 13. I know some other families in Northern California that don't get a chance to make it down there so the past few years we've been having small gatherings up here. Wait...gotta go, I've got a tree to hug...

Lisa,
Thank you for the heads up on the San Diego picnic. I wasn't aware they had one down here. I am interested in going (not really sure they would want me there, but thats another story). Who would I contact for dates and location? I love what you've done with your trees. And I know you probably don't hear this often enough, so here goes "Thank you for your water". In fact I think we might be able to repay some of our huge debt to you guys. But your probably in the same boat as we are with all this rain. Hopefully you guys can get together for a grand picnic. Keep us posted, just in case they toss me from the Diego gig. I promise I'll wear a tie-dye shirt. Cheers...Karl...
PS...Cal had a great football team last year..I went to see them play USC with my brother-in-law. He did his first four years at Cal, then got his masters at USC. Poor guy didn't know when to cheer. It was a great game though. Cal should have won.

We are ALL about USC in this house (hubby is from So Cal), and very much looking forward to a 3-peat. Cal is a nasty word to around here, never say they should've won!!!
There is a Southern California BPI support group and they do have a website, although I forgot what it is. I'm sure it will be posted on the BPI events board when things are final. They really have their act together and it's a great picnic with lots and lots of people...easily a hundred or so, with maybe 30-40 families represented. They have events for the kids, and last year they had a speaker for the adults. Usually Dr. Nath is there doing evaluations. It is very well organized and a great time. We've gone twice now, and the trip is well worth it. Several Northern Ca families find there way down there because it is just that good of a picnic!!!

Lisa,
I went to two USC games this year, Cal and UCLA. Both games SC barely won? But they did (que the Trojan fight song). Last year I went to LSU to have my surgery with Dr. Tiel the day after the Sugar Bowl. The last question on my list was "Do you REALLY think LSU can beat USC?" Maybe that wasn't the brightest thing to say to some guy who is going to split you open like a melon. I can't believe Norm Chow is leaving (snif..snif) I can't talk about it any more...Karl...

Ahhh - nice to hear my beloved Trojans posted on the UBPN message board - Trojan alum '92 and TBPI alum '92. I too would be interested in hearing more about the BPI event in San Diego
