3D CAT SCAN

Has anyone ever taken their cat scans to an orthopedist for advice on the bones? My doctor suggested this and I am wondering if anyone else has done it; what was the outcome from the orthopedist?

Thanks,
Kelly

Kelly, is the orthopedist understanding of BPI? I am asking because each time we get a scan done of any sort, the radiologist comes up with some whacko report. The last one was that my kid was malpositioned on the table and that is why the arms look so different. Lame. It'll be interesting to see what the orthopod says about the scans but get copies of them to give to one or more bpi specialists for their opinions.

Some bpi specialists are also orthopedists, like Scott Kozin. You could try showing him the images maybe.

Jennifer,

Our Ortho is a guy out of Loyola who trained with that BPI specialist in St. Louis(can't think of her name). My pediatrician is the one who suggested seeing him first, my peds is looking into hospitals that offer the 3d Cat scan. Once we find out where I will definitely let you know.

Just to let you know...Children's Memorial in Chicago does the 3D Cat scans. Matthew has his done there. When Dr. Nath saw it he said they do very good scans. The only thing is that when I asked for a copy of the disc right after it was done,
they forgot to put the 3D version on the disc. However, they did send me a corrected copy right away. We had 2 scans done, and they did this both times. But he scans were done correctly and clearly.
