How sensitive are tendons after tendon transfer surgery?

Merry Christmas everyone. We had our Christmas Eve dinner today even though we are Orthodox Christians.

Anyway. during our Christmas Eve feast, I kept my arm bent by keeping my fingers bent (oberlin's procedure) because I had gotten tired of holding it with my other arm. Afterwards I noticed a slight pain on the underside of my arm where the tendons usually are. Should I be worried? I am still wearing a cast.

Merry Christmas to you too!

No, I don't think you need to worry if u have a slight pain. U are still on a cast anyway. The cast protects the arm very well. I had a slight pain when I had my cast on, but it turned out to be absolutely nothing. Ciao.

Karlos, I just got my cast off 2 days ago. I am wondering if you can tell me how good your finger & wrist exentsor are now and how were they when you first took the cast off. My hand is still swollen and my fingers are solid; just like you said your's were.

Its gonna be around six weeks of phisio before your fingers free up, if i had to guess id say my fingers / wrist were around 80% normal now (2 yrs after transfers)

Karlos, woudl you recommend I start streching my fingers? I'm 5 weeks post-op and my cast is off. I had it on for 28 days, then my doc replaces it with a splint. I asked him if I could damage it by steching too much and he said no. Yet my therapist is precautious about me streching the fingers so soon. What is your opinion?

Id give it 6 week then stretch away, but a little gentle bending wont hurt now

Whenever I extend my fingers I can only get it a little above midpoint. Did you have the same problem?

Yes, I can extend them now. But my wrist only extends when my fingers extend. Is it the same for you? And how did you get that arm wrestling motion? The one that keeps your arm away from your body when you bend your elbow.
