Hello Everyone.

Has anyone tried or know of anyone whose tried the supports from these people???

http://www.ambroise-uk.com/home.html

I'm going to a wedding soon and I've been asked to be an Usher. I don't really wanna wear a sling, put my hand in my pocket or just let it hang. I'm interested in the Wilmur Carrying Orthosis as it looks as though it would be good to wear under my suit.

I emailed the guys on the site to ask if the "contraption" can be straightened to give a more 'natural' look when worn under clothing. They replied yes it could be straightened to 45%. That was all they said though. They forwarded a number also which I will call but I just wanted some feedback first from people who may have used it.

I just wanna know what it's like comfort wise, ease of use, cost etc and anything that may be helpful.

Cheers for any help or info you all may be able to give on this

Marc

Hiya marc;

Stanmore have stopped issuing this sling because the joint at the elbow is unstable and breaks easily. Ring the two Daves, and they can tell you more about it.

All I know for certain is that you have to have it fitted by someone who knows how, so that could delay things a while, if you decide it's worth going for.
cya later...liz x

Marc,

Look a couple of posts below to the shoulder brace listed there. It is made by CVS it designed for motorcylist after shoulder injuries. I have tryed it see my post there. It is inexpensive and worth a shot. I wear it at work under my shirt nobody but me can tell its on. It gives me support but possibly the tightness of it around my armpit aggravates the pain. I wear it a couple of days a week. I gave up the sling a long time ago to much bother plus i had other difficultys that made the sling not so great ( shoulder blade and collar bone fractures etc.) I looked at the wilmer othosis but seemed like real mechanical looking and I doubt if i wear it or if I could even get it on by myself. This brace below I can put on by myself. It doesnt require fitting you just order for your size. Its stretchy but the stretchy-ness provides the support so dont get it too big. Oh yeah the best part is its under $40.

Good Luck at the wedding
John
