Newbie with Questions - Boston Area

Post by Harrison »

Hi folks!

I am a newbie with lots of questions, so I am glad I found this site! I started a similar forum a few months ago for people needing info on artificial disc replacement, which I had in June with great success (L5-S1).

I recently injured myself somehow (Swimming, weights…?) but need an accurate diagnosis first. My symptoms are pain around the shoulder blade and neck, cold hands, and seemingly random muscle twitches throughout my body. Previously, I had to stop swimming because of severe tendonitis (with armpit pain too).

I suspect thoracic outlet or BPI – but I need professional help getting a diagnosis. What professionals can provide the diagnosis? Physical therapists? Neurosurgeons? Have most people on the forum received definitive results from MRIs? I am in the Boston area and did see a thread on looking for doctors – I am happy to see anyone that can help me get to the right diagnosis.

Thanks!

Harrison

Hi harrison, I got my BPI from an auto accidnet so mine was diagnosed straight away. I would advise you to see a BPI doctor... neurologists arent always the best to see, with my personal experience, they know very little aobut BPI! Get to a BPI guy if even just for a consult. You can check out our medical resources directory here and that might help you a bit. Best of luck to you! http://ubpn.org/medicalresources/us-bpi.html
