New comer and injured 2 weeks ago (ouch !)

Hello,
I am a newcomer in this forum and would like to say hello.
I have recently injured myself while sitting on a chair by bringing my arm aross my opposite shoulder and pulling a friends arm very quickly.
All the muscles in the left side of my back were suddently cramped including my trapeius.
Went to the clinic and hosptial and got prescribed codeine, flexeril and even dilaudid later on but nothing worked against this agonising pain.
I went to a chiro and he took x-rays but nothing really came up so he gave me standard manipulations hoping h could unpinch a nerve in my neck without success.
Haing seen few docs, one of them now thinks I may have cervical hernia and requested I go for MRI.
From the pain I am feeling behind my left shoulderblade and armpit, I am more inclined to think its the brachial plexus that has been injured.
The physio has tried traction in my neck to revive my thumb but it doesnt do nothing. I also have winging in my left shoulder.
2 weeks later (today), I still suffer painful spasms(improving) on my left arm and numbness in my thumb.
This is keeping me awake at nigh. There is no pain in the neck but only when I turn it completely, a pinch in my left shoulder.
Anyone please give me their insight in this matter ?
Thank you very much
