Has anyone got the movement that keeps the arm up?
Has anyone got the movement that keeps the arm up?
The one that stops the forearm from falling over. I was wondering about that because my tricep is coming back, and I already have lift from my shoulder. Does anyone know if the same nerve that causes that motion is the same as the tricep's? thanks.

Andre,
The main function of the triceps is to straighten the arm. The long head of the triceps is attached above the humerus and will pull the arm back into the socket as it gets stronger. But that only happens when you try to extend or straighten your arm.

What about the muscle that keeps the arm up? For example, whenever you arm wrestle, the muscle that keeps the arm up from falling over.

Andre,
Holding your arm in that position is done by a combination of muscles. For your un-injured arm, you use the biceps, triceps, and the shoulder muscles. Can you hold your arm up now? That would be a great sign. I know your eager for the surgury results. Keep up the therapy and the ROM exercises. It will happen, you just got to hang in there....Karl...
