Anyone tried Pregabalin?

How's it goin' everyone, I'm new to this site but am very impressed that it exists and will be a regular visitor and contributor. I have a right TBPI, C5 was 'rescued' by Rolf Birch at Stanmore, UK but I have no movement from my elbow. I have carried the injury for 6 years and more now. I take no medication any longer as I found that most made me either dizzy, forgetfull, insensitive or down right dopey.

I recently visited my pain control specialist,... can you believe my work was on my back for taking more than 7 days unscheduled leave in one year because of excessive PLP, so I thought I'd be a good excuse to visit him to see what was new on the market. He has recommended I try Pregabalin (son of Neurontin) before my first choice, to get on a Sativex trial.

I am very reluctant to try another GABA substitute as it affected me for the reasons above and once again, as in all the drugs they try and pump our way, its primary use was to relieve epilepsy! but if anyone can tell me that they've had positive results with it then I'd like to hear from them.

I started taking Pregabalin (Lyrica) about a month ago. It does seem to help. I'm on 100mgx3times/day but you can go upto 200mgx3times/day. There is plenty of info on the net if you want a read. I have been on dihydrocodeine 60mgx4times/day for 8/9 years plus gabapentin 300mgx4times/day last 2 years. Since starting Pregabalin in place of Gabapentin I have about halved the Dihydrocodeine. I have had no side effects. In my view, and I've had this pain for 24 years now, its definately worth a try.
