Does anyone know...
Of any government agencies that will assist in the payment of surgical procedures? I have spoken with the Childrens Rehabilitaive System in my state, but they cannot help me because we travel out of state for surgeries(to TCH). That does not make sense to me because we HAVE to go out of state, as no one here performs these surgeries. The representative I spoke with basically told me that they would only pay for out of state surgical procedure if it were life or death, and brachial plexus injuries are NOT life or death. I am frustrated. I was told that we could go to them for therapy, but the therapist my child sees is very educated in brachial plexus injuries, where there therapists have seen "one or two cases". I just do not feel that it would be worth it to save a little bit of money that way and "lower" my childs care. we would still have to pay a percentage and travel a lot further too. It just isn't making sense to me. Please let me know if you know of a another way.
