I was just browsing through a toy catalog, saw a bunch of toys we use for therapy and thought it would be fun to share names of catalogs we use to purchase toys. The one I was looking at was called construction playthings at www.constplay.com
They've got the therapy balls, large construction blocks, diggers, guitars, mini piano, soft play forms and such. Some things are on the pricey side, but it's fun to browse and get ideas...

We have ordered from that catalog - they have great itmes.
we also order from
www.hogwildtoys.com they have these neat chopstick. Matthew eats chex mix with them
oriental trading also has some neat really inexpensive stuff you can order.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I have to look at those sites... My grandchildren are not bpi but I am going to the Symposium in Italy and need to Christmas Shop early and do some of it via the internet this year.

This is a great idea to post this! I just got my "Back to Basics Toys" catalog in the mail today, and there are lots of great toys in there for kids with BPI. They specialize in hard-to-find and old-fashioned toys.
For Christmas for Danny, we are considering getting ... are you ready for this? ... an accordian! (resistive pulling action) or maybe this cool wheely rider thing where you have to manually turn the wheels around with your hands to get it to go. They also have a huge plastic tire the kids can roll each other around in.
Last year, I know the toys were available through amazon.com - but they might have their own website, too.

Ha ha...I'd also recommend earplugs for Christmas too!!! We've got that accordian and when my daughter gets into it...YIKES!!! Actually, my husband is worse.
lakeshorelearning.com is another great resource...they are more suppliers to schools and teachers, but the toys are organized so well (dramatic play, manipulatives, block play, active play, thematic learning). Their prices are pretty good. I know our OT orders a lot of stuff through this place that she uses with our daughter.

Yes, I did think earplugs might be the gift we give OURSELVES after giving Danny an accordian! Good call! That's so funny.
You're right - Lakeshore is so great. You can really go hog wild on that website or in their store.
