all pop tastes like metal to me..i only eat once a day at about 9pm and i have to force myself to eat that!!I have diarreah and have probs falling asleep at night, i dont have probs with numbness os "radio's in the head yet!! I am on 100mg 2x a day for bipolar2. Does anyone's eyes looks bloodshot all the time??? mine have and im not sure if it is the topamax or the lexapro im on with it

I am testing Topamax right now for my seizures and see how it works. So far it har several side effects. The worst ones for me are the difficulty with memory, difficulty waking up in the morning and loosing the sense of taste. hopefully it will get better.

I have the same problem with food. my taste is gone while I am taking topamax.

I too have experienced blurring of vision and slight eye pressure. I have been on Topamax 100 for 3 months for now for migraines and about 3 weeks ago began having gastro-intestinal distress, my stomach "rumbles" constantly and is uncomfortable and I don't stray too far from a restroom whereas I usually am plaqued with chronic constipation! I haven't read of this latter complaint in any of the boards. Has anyone else had this side effect? I am thinking of taking myself off of the Topamax, I teach primary school, and can't take these side effects much longer for fear of an " accident"!!!

Have been on Topamax for one month now at 30 mg a day with a drs appt to increase the amount on Thurs. I am a diet Pepsi fiend and yes it taste like metal now...as a matter of fact I had some dental work done around the same time I started the Topamax and went back to the dentist thinking she had not filled my filling correctly or something...I have a very vile taste in my mouth and thought possible absese or ?. My dentist checked and found a saliva gland in the area that was tasting funny and squeezed it and thats what it was...the Topamax must be changing the way my saliva tastes which I think is also the metalic taste that the pepsi now has...I take Maxalt for my migranes but because of the sevarity of them I was having to take more lately ....a friend has been taking the Topamax for about 6 months now with no side effects that she can think of ....the food tasting thing went away after about a month...Im not sure if I will stay on this stuff....I am not afraid of taking anything that will help me as far as drugs are concerned but this stuff seems to have side effects that I just dont know if I am willing to put up with....the metal taste (yucky) is in my mouth 24/7..getting alittle old. As far as the weight loss goes, I was hoping to loose alittle also....no throwing up yet but that yucky taste!!!!Well good luck and write back...Deb

I am on topamax for my migraines, I recently, 2 days ago, went to the ER when I lost all feeling throughout my body, I guess it's the numbess, or tingles you guys are talking about. I have stopped taking the topamax, but my question is when will i get feeling back?! It's scary...it truly is, it's like being blind...but not as bad...haha..but I have also experienced the lack of sex drive....probably because i can't feel anything. So if anyone who can tell me when i will feel normal again....thanks!

I was just prescribed this medicine for Bipolar 2. I'm a graduate student--hoping to move on to get my doctorate. I've read of a lot of cognitive problems. Will this medicine do a lot of damage to my school work? I'm already having trouble staying awake/getting up. The Dr said getting off of Depakote should help with that.???

Hello my name is Nick and I have been epileptic for 10 years. I have been on Tegretol and Depekote and Mysoline and now starting Topomax. I am having a hard time with my memory. My wife has to tell me three times everything so I don't forget. (I forget anyways) I am a little off balance and am starting to lose a little weight which isn't helping my bench press. I am a lucky epileptic. The seizures only happen when I don't take my medication. I am so tired though. I feel SO tired all the time, this Depakote is killing me...Anybody else have the same problem with Depakote?

I have started taking Topax as 25mg for 3 days then now as of the 13th of this month I started taking 50mg for 3 days then 75mg for three days and the up to 100mg and then stay at 100. I get about 2 to 3 migranes a week! This is before being on Topamax I have just been on a 120 mg of inderal but now my neurologist has added this 100 of topamax on top. I do feel dizzy sometimes and my pee is really cloudy. I am curious....how are you guys losing weight are you not hungry? What do ya'll think of the medicines she has me on?

I have only been on Topamax since Sept 30..which seems to be enough for me! I have found myself so disoriented..even simple tasks are a chore. My vision is blurred.. I feel at times like I cant Blink and like I am in a tunnel. I have awful hot flashes. Pepsi tastes terrible ! My hands and legs have numb tingling feelings... my face feels like I have on a face mask. I am only starting to work up to 30 mg and I dont think I can continue. Has anyone been warned not to just suddenly stop this medicine? I am taking it for migraines...Which I happen to have a bad one tonight... Sigh...All I want to do is be headache free...not live feeling like a zombie
