nancy i love the idea of a map with push pins....maybe an online one where people could put their own pin in... i MUST be the most Southerly bpi posting....who's the most Northerly? Bigsel in bonnie Scotland is my guess...get the atlas out guys..about numbers...the tbpi who are more than transient injuries in the UK do get counted, and the obpi have been counted since 1998, tbpi outnumber the obpi by 4 to 1. Bear in mind the obpi figure there is pretty low..Someone once mentioned tbpi figures from the states...mindy?? I suppose the other more serious injuries many tbpi have kind of affect the count in ER..plus it does seem as tho many serious tbpi get amputated very early on, and are therefore not counted and wouldn't visit this site, i've met quite a few on amputee websites who think of themselves as amputees rather than tbpi. btw, amputee websites are good places for overuse info, they share many of our long term problems. Karlos, took me a minute to get the Rubix cube joke til i picked up my son's and tried to do it hahahahaaaa!!!

....You bluddy forgot concrete mate, in yer numbers!!! mind you, it's me own fault for turning up late....sorry...pressing family business has kept me away from me 'puter...talking about numbers in the U.K. well, in the last ten days, I have had emails from 3 new tbpi people; saw, but didn't speak to a barman with an obvious bpi working in a pub that I used to frequent years ago; was served in a motorway service station shop by a young girl with a bad bpi...and couldn't bring meself to say anything...(can't tell why; just the moment wasn't right somehow, although she obviously noticed mine....)and have had two more tbpi people leave messages for me on a couple of newsgroups that I look at sometimes...yup; there are far more than you think out there like us, and sadly, more adding to the numbers every year.

...oh, and the concrete...is how I got my tbpi. I was walking in the street, going to work and a two-ton block of concrete fell on me, and crushed my chest. The only thing sticking out from under, apart from my head, was my right arm. The blokes on the building site (where the block fell from) managed to lift it enough to drag me out...by my arm....I am, truly, lucky to be alive...so many things could have gone wrong.....

Hello all, I new there were a few BPIs out there, but this is crazy. I found this board today looking for pain info. So I reckon I don't qualify as a lurker, but will soon enough. I suffer from right arm BPI and it's been about three years. It hasn' t slowed me down much I still surf, skateboard, snowboard, sail, ride bikes. But the pain is still intense. I have created quite the arm sling that is waterproof, for all sorts of activities, it keeps that crazy arm secure while the rest of me keeps rolling. If anyone is interested in the sling contact me, maybe I can make you one? I know I went through hard times in the begining trying to find a decent arm sling. I'm sure I'll hear from everyone soon. Later, from OBX, NC

Hey Rob......welcome aboard !! Yep, there seems to be bunches of us out there....unfortunately :o(

Good you're getting on with life, and I like your distractions. Great place for some humor too.......need the laugh therapy as well. Just take a look over at the adult OBPI board......they're building an ark over there and stocking it with chocolate and vino. They're gonna need a lot of arms over there to row that bad boy........
