Ok, our turn. My beautiful baby girl, Kearney, turned 1 today. She was the life of her party. Clapping, singing (well attempting to) and dancing. Her personality is just amazing..I know everyone thinks that about their child but I do think she has that little extra something. Her outstanding personality makes me always remember that she is more than her injured arm. Which, by the way, is doing great. She can almost get the arm to the back of her head, like when you put a ponytail in. The only think she cant do is get her arm behind her, like to unhook a bra but she can get it somewhat back there. If only she would stop lifting that arm whenever she brings it to her mouth no one would ever notice. We're off to see Dr Waters on Monday so hopefully we'll get good news.

It is so wonderful to hear everyones good news. I sat here and read them all. I laughed and cried all at the same time. Our children are so amazen. I want to brag (of course) about both my children. My daughter, non-BPI got student of the month for September. My son Matt (almost 3), LBPI slept two full nights without even a whimper. For him that is amazing. He is one of the most restless sleepers. Also we got good news from Dr. Nath on Sat. Matt will only have to wear a splint after surgery for 3 weeks, then 3 weeks at night. So now we will only have to fight him to keep it on for 6 weeks.
Thanks for listening
Kelly

Kim, so glad that Dani & doing great! She must love grade 1. Is she still in dance, or is she doing others things also?
The place where Trevor goes to archery burnt down. Can you imagine? We were concerned that they couldn't find another place, but they did! We are so grateful.
I love this! It's so good to hear about everyones accomplishments.

Hi all,
I just passed my CDL class A truck driver road test. I have very limited use of my short bent left arm, but I have enough use of the arm so that there are no restrictions on my CDL drivers license. I thought that bragging this news might give other obpi'ed folks some ideas if they are looking for work.

Hi all, here's my brag about Brittney. She is now a Middle school 6th grader - whole new school with over 1000 kids, she changes classes, has her locker all decorated up (purple and pink), dresses out for PE daily, ....big step from elementary school. It was scary for her to start over at a new school, but she is doing great and loves it! She has met many new friends, plays a clarinet in the school band, has joined clubs, and just got her report card and made straight A's! (just like she did throughout elementary). I had worried about what the demands of her new school would be like, if she'd do as well in Middle school as she had done in elementary, and mostily if the kids and the teachers would be understanding about her arm. (In the back of my head I kept wondering if this would be the year that the kids would start being cruel like you hear so much about) - but - so far our experiences have been good - no cruel kids - just curious ones who will ask her what happened. She has been having fun with old friends and new ones - went to a 6th grade dance a few weeks ago. She had fun - she is getting smoother at dancing. She's been going to football games with her pep squad friends - she doesn't belong to that club but she can yell loud! She has a big group of friends that she sits with at lunch, and - she likes her teachers too. Her PE teacher is understanding and just wants her to try to participate - grades on participation and written tests - not on ability, and Brittney is getting A's in PE so far. Anyway - she loves middle school - except she says it gets scary when the bell rings and the 7th and 8th graders come pushing thru the halls to get to their lockers. She keeps her head down and plows thru! I think she really loves the new independance of her new school - - and the new, cute boys everywhere......
OH - and she scored the winning goal in last weeks soccer game!! They poured water over her head and she was the hero!! Things are going great here for her.
Sorry so long - lots of things happening here!
