I was put on topamax 400mg along with lithium and it made me so confused that it was reduced to 300mg. Since then Ive had a different combination altogether but also developed bulimia and have begun taking 300mg of topamax again as Ive found it has really helped the bulimia. The problem is that I'm still getting side effects of slowness and memory problems and tingling in my hands and legs but it feels like it really is the only way Im going to stop the bulimia. Is anyone else taking this for eating disorders?

Hi--I am beginning week 3 of Topamax (am at 150 mg now) and was wondering when the weight loss starts happening!?! I am on it for that reason mainly, but also for mood and anxiety (same thing) and migraines and diabetes prevention. I also have a couple other things happening. Just curious...PS my hands are FREEZING all the time!

I took tompomax for 2 years and lost lots of weight and it hepled with wth headaches nothing else could cure. I wound up with terrible joint and muscle pain that no one could diagnose and I just went off the drug and the pain is going. It can be great if you don't get side effects bug be careful

I lost about 25 lbs and everyone thought I looked great. My headaches which were horrible were gone. Iwound up getting muscle and joint pain that no one attributed to the topomax because it is not is the warnings. Yet I have been on the drug 5 days and do not have the body pain that I have had for two years and countless other pain killers later. I am hoping my headaches don't come back. I was worried because I couldn't remember words anymore that were simple and had trouble spelling. Good luck.

I lost my headaches and weight too but have horror stories about other muscle and joint pain. Did you get any? I would be interested. I just stopped the drug and my pain is getting better everyday and I can even spell again and don't forget words

I had all the same things happen. Did you get pain in you legs or any other place. I need to know. Thanks.

Sandra: Did you get leg pain or any other body pains. I have suffered for two years with countless pain meeds and I think that I just discovered it was topomax. I have been off for 5 days and the pain is going away. Let me know.

It can be great and get rid of headaches. I had horrible debilitating ones for 24/7 and topomax wiped them out.. Possibly gave me worse body pains that went indiagnosed for two years because it is not in the literature. Johnson & Johnson wants to make a killing on it as a weight loss drug. Let me know if you get side efeects. Look for everything including vision problems (gluacoma and eye pain can not be overlooked because blindness and other serious problems can result.) Let me know
