oh boy, I was given Topomax for the nerve root herniated discs in my neck and migraines, one herniated disc in the cervical at c-6 is causing major problems with my right shoulder. MRI revealed bursistis, tendonitis and arthritist.

But as far as Bell's that's very scary and I have been reading a lot about this topomax and i will not put it in my body any more I would rather take the old time medicines from 18 years ago and suffer.

yes.. i was on it for one week and stopped because I was so irritable and obnoxious it was making me very depressed I cried every day slept all day and with my husband looking for a job I really don't need anything that is going to make me more nuts.

I would definitely stop taking it.

you can email me if you want. I am very knowledgeable about medicine and procedures. I was appointed by the governor of florida confirmed by senate to sit on the Florida Board of Medicine so I dealt with doctors, pharmacists and lawyers.

my email is: beachhigh72@yahoo.com

Topomax has decreased my seizures, the purpose it was intended for.

i've been recently diagnosed with brain damaged caused by chronic migraines with a 25 year history. the brain damage has caused me to have epilepsy. i have been on topomax since maybe the first of july. i am now on 100 at night and up to 50 in the am. and will gradually be at 100/100. so far, no weight loss. not more than 5 pounds, anyway. i do have gastroenteritis. it's very difficult to concentrate. i can't spell very well anymore. it's a major effort to type this forum. and i'm a medical secretary and transcriptionist. (i'm in danger of losing my job) my neurologist says eventually i may need to go to a neuro-psychologist and "learn" things over. the only thing i was forwarned of, was tingling, which i have not experienced. i have not had any convulsive seizures. only other partial generalized seizures and focal. but now, i'm beginning to believe most of my "brain damage" could be all Topomax related. but it has stopped the flashing lights and focal seizures. but yes, it definetly slowed my mind down. i can't remember anything. i'm not depressed. but losing memories does make me sad. i forget what letters make what sounds. lose my train of thought. when i get to my full dosage.....we'll see.
