I wrote a letter to the producers of West Wing.

I told them about OBPI and the fact that Mr. Sheen had discribed his injury and after watching the show there was no doubt that Mr.Sheen and I share the same injury.

I told them how important it is to have a spokesperson for this injury to prevent it and to made the medical community more aware of the needs of those of us who are injured.

I suggested that instead of having the president with MS why not use the injury he already has...

Please no one be offended by my asking them to take one over the other.... I have a niece with MS so I know how serious it is!....
But many speak on the issues of MS... we have none for BPI/Erb's......

Maybe a few more letters asking the producers of West Wing to address the subject of his personal injury instead of making up something for him... or trying to pretend that he is not injured would be a good idea...

President Roosevelt hid his polio from the public... maybe now it the time for the President on this show to share it with the public.... how does that sound...

I had my ten year old son watch West Wing tonight. We don't watch alot of TV so I wasn't aware of the show or that Mr. Sheen was a role model for our children.

Maybe he wouldn't want that . But, I have to say that ANYONE of such noble celebrity ( he has come a long way and is someone to be admired, in my opinion) I have wathced BIO he has done.

Any way, IF I CAN HOLD OUT A PERSON LIKE MY SON - TO SHOW HIM - HE CAN DO WHAT EVER HE WANTS ALSO - even though we have less function i'm sure he or his parents had to work hard at it at some point along the way. IT IS A POSITIVE>

I have to agree... for me it is almost a comfort to see someone acting or in the public form who moves as I do.

I really don't think that Mr.Sheen would ever come to this web site... can you just see the rag sheets and how they would attack on his injury.

I, as and adult/obpi, know how I never wanted to talk about my arm. It was not a topic of conversation I want to have with strangers. Now I use it as a tool for education and prevention. But I have come a long way in the last three years. I have so much more information on this injury and as a result I am much more comfortable explaining it to those who ASK questions... I guess you would say I am "armed with information"

I would still like the West Wing to do a show on this injury... because that would bring this injury into the Light and the Public Eye and help with prevention and proper medical care for those already injured.
