20/20 Show was wonderful - Kudos to the families!

I to cried as I relived when I had Thomas. I hope this will get people to understand and be aware that this can happen to them and it does not always just go away. Thanks to the ones who told there stories. I also e-mailed ABC and thanked them and that we would like to see more done on brachial plexus injuries!!!!!!!! Big hugs everyone!!!!

Can anyone help me, I am new to this board and ahve been reading it. I guess 20/20 fianlly did a show about BP? I have a son,Kyle age 7 who suffers from at birth a BP. He still has lots of trouble and it has always amazed me that NO one could tell me anything about it back then. It was like no one wanted to talk about it and I had this baby who couldn't move his arm at all. Anyone know how to get a tape of the show?

I was crying through the whole show! Kudos, to the familes on the show. A good way to bring awareness to this injury. Thanks to everyone that helped with this segment. It is time for our children to get the awareness they deserve.

well - it's 24 hours later and every time I think about the show I get teary eyed and feel my stomach churn. It was SO hard seeing those tiny limp arms.

Thank you to the women on the show - what strong woman you are to take this on - and educate the world! Good for you!!!! and THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!

Kathleen...how do you get to all the messages on that board? I can only get to the current one and not all the previous. I noticed there were some comments regarding a Houston obstetrician but couldnt read the original post. I also missed the show.( Just from reading some of the comments to this Houston obstetrician he sounds like an ob who hosted that ob/gyn website who had made some inconsiderate comments regard bpi's. I think it was several years ago now when I stumbled upon that website. Some ob's will just never understand the turmoil we go through nor will they ever care to understand. That is the saddest statement for our medical system by far.

I hope everyone from our boards post to let 20/20 know how we feel and also to e-mail the show thank them and ask them to do a full show. I would be great if they gave complete coverage on this injury and how it impacts the family and the life of the obpi. It is not just a birth injury and that is what people don't get!
