Yes Hannes I take topmax one 25mg at night and one 25mg in the morning works for me. I lost c5 c6 and part of c7. It toke the doctors a year to tell me what was wrong. Your in good shape to have knolage early on. So move quicklly. And good luck. Many pepole here will help you. Paul

Thanx Paul! Could you please send me the active substance (agent?)of topmax? I dont think that in germany it has got the same name! Meanwhile I have some very good relations to my chemist´s ! Hannes

Hannes I spelled it wrong its Topamax. I have book at the office physician desk reference i will look at it tomrrow. We also have a topic or string as the Brits call it with Topamax is talked about alittle further down the 1st page. If you jump on that some pepole watching that topic might help you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your English is MUCH better than my German, don't apologise. You may find some words in the link above that are not familiar, some are swearwords (it's an adult message board!) any others you don't understand I'll be happy to explain.
Check the thread below about Topamax, but take note of the side effects people have experienced, some of them look pretty serious. It might be worth checking with your bpi specialist if there is a pain clinic attached to the facility where your surgery was done. Most of us do see the pain easing within 2 years, many before that, good luck:0)

Hannes Jenny is right I had less pain after 11/2 or so. Oh ya they call topics-thread not string, to me they are both some thing you sew a dress with and i don't sew anything. Paul

NEWS!!! I heard about an op-method called "DREZ" (think it´s the german name), which is said to eleminate the pain with a success rate up to 60%. Procedure: They prick a needle in your spinal cord, on the position where your nerve roots are pulled out. Then they give some temp on the needle and obliterate the spot. They repeat this procedure a few times downwards to the top of the first "healthy" root. Of course, a general anesthetic is needed. Maybe this OP makes possible a grug-free-life!?! The side effect is that you can loose your sensibility! Could you please ask your docs whether they know this method, or not.

Do you remain in this topic as long as your rehab goes? Mine will take at least 1 1/2 years. Would be nice to compare notes with you! Hannes

Why bother Jenny. I use to build race bikes with two hands, till 1 or 2 am. That i would race. And i really miss that. The building.........Paul
