Hi Cinanina:
My name is John. I'm 65 years old and ROBPI. I found this site about 3 years ago while looking for information about the brachial plexus. I've always considered my injury as an inconvenience rather than a problem but then, judging from what I've read in the forums, my injury is not as severe as others. I believe that physical therapy during my childhood years (until age 12 )was key to the recovery I have made although a surgery was performed when I was 13. I can raise my hand to about head level. I have good hand function and strength.
Welcome to boards.
John P.

Re: Would it be too much to ask?
Hi Catarina,
I just discovered the boards about a month or so ago. My name is Carrie. I have one child, Garrett who was born with a left BPI. He's been making wonderful progress with therapy so far. He's 14 months now. We live in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Hi Catarina,
I'm Maggie, Noah's mom and post under noahsmom. I'm glad you asked the question as I am fairly new to the boards as well.
Noah is almost 18 months old and has a ROBPI. His injury was described as moderately severe, but now is more mild. He had the mod quad at 14 months at Texas Children's with Dr. Nath. He has considerably more range of motion now. We are doing therapy all the time to strengthen his arm. He's a great kid and I love him to pieces. He is my one and only.
We live in the U.S.
Maggie

Welcome Catarina....I am Karrie. I live in Maryland (USA) with my husband and four children...20,19,14 & 6. My six year old son has a left OBPI. He has had one surgery to date. I was fortunate enough to find this site shortly after his birth(It was called EPIRG back then). I have learned so much information here and have had a great deal of support from everyone here. I don't get as much time to come here as often as I used too, but I do pop in every once in a while and I know if there was ever anything I needed or a had a question...I could come here for the answer. Welcome again and best wishes to your son.

Hi, my name is Teresa Harrington and I live in Columbia, Missouri. I have 3 children ages 7, 4 1/2, and 21 months old. My youngest one has a ROBPI and was classified as a severe OBPI in the beginning but has recovered a lot of movement today without surgery. She has had intense PT which has been very helpful. She did have torticollis as a little baby and ended up needing a DOCband helmet and will soon be starting E-stim for her elbow contracture. But most people don't even notice anything at all wrong with her arm since she does use it quite a bit. I have received a lot of helpful info from this wonderful website. It wasn't until my daughter's 3 week check up that I was told by the pediatrician what was wrong with her arm and after surfing the web for any info on Brachial Plexus Palsy I stumbled upon this great site.

Hi:)
I am Kimberly. I have a LOPBI from birth. I found UBPN only 8 months ago. I am the Mom of 5...13, 11, 8, 6, and 18 months. I try to get here everyday, although I don't neccisarily post everyday. Probably a couple of times a week though.
I had the Mod Quad done this last April. It has been amazing. Dr Shenaq will be going back in this Fall to remove some implingment problems I am having.
