Clint,
Let me assure you journals aren't all they are cracked up to be. If the medical profession wants to justify a particular surgery or delivery method for that matter, trust me they will, whether it is accurate and truthful or not. And usually, you can find articles out there to support just the opposite of what you finally thought you understood, if that makes any sense. Good luck to all struggling with this decision. It is not always easy justifying this procedure with todays knowledge and information.

Re: For Those Who Chose No Surgery...
Thank you all for your replies. Unfortunately, I can only read 16 of 20 of them. For some reason, the board is not working well for me lately. It shows me that there are 20 replies, but when I go into the thread, it says 16. Well, tomorrow is the big day! At this point, my husband and I both know what we'd like. However, we don't have the same viewpoint. So, we'll see what happens. Either it'll be a girl and we won't have to make a decision or it'll be a boy and we'll be doing lots of praying. Thanks again. -Tina

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.
