Glad things are going better and yes KEEP THAT COMMUNICATION OPEN!!!! I loved your reference to SPOCK.While everyone else had crushes on Captain Kirk, when I was 9,10 ,11, I was the one who loved Spock and his pointy ears. Was it the same for you? LOL And yes, I agree with you both, the needs of the child outweigh the needs of the arm. Keep up the good work and remember God is in control. LeeAnne

Lee-Anne unfortunately until now the needs of the arm have outweighed many of the needs of the child and the family.... and I was hoping that this year that would change!

yes - I always identified with Spock more than anyone else...the logic part of him. I miss Star Trek so much!

Francine,

Wish I could be there with you and march right up to school with you. Come on Principal, stop talking from both sides of your mouth. did she really think Maia won't come home and tell you she stayed in at recess. HUMMMMMMMM!!

The Principal thinks if she tells you what you want to hear you will go away. Wrong!!!

Remember we all stand behind you on this. NO child should have to stay in on a beautiful day or any other day.

Our love and hugs are with you, keep us posted.

Hugs, Karen

karen - and tonight at dinner maia tells us that no - there wasn't a friend with her...she just played little ducks with barbara - her adult shadow.

I already got an email back from the principal about this - she's going to talk to the teacher tomorrow.

She knows I'm on this and won't back off.

Francine, I totally understand. Thats why we took the summer break from "the arm" Though I felt guilty and we still did things, it was more informal and we did more regular family stuff. But now we are in the therapy, insurance , attorney, and school rat race again. It was a nice breather while it lasted. I know Maia's situation is worse than Michaelas and I don't see how you stay on top of it without having "ulcers". Don't let that principal tell you one thing and the teacher another. Everyone needs to be in the room for the conversation to prevent this.

Personally, I'm worried about the self esteem of the child in the position of, as well as being referred to as, "the shadow."
