I have seen a slow down in a lot of posting and I know its the summer and everybody is using this time to get away from things.you can especially use this time to help you or your affected love one to conquer a personal or family goal to keep yourself saying I can do that. I hope times start to get milder and things start to make sense and for those who have trouble coming up with conclusions alone ...always post it does help.

I've really liked this thread but I've also wondered how your attitude was at age 12-16??? The reason I ask is because as an adult I can see things clearer than my son can and he actually is doing very well now....but.....He doesn't go to school....he refuses and for good reasons...He wasn't getting an education there. It's so hard to know when to draw a line in the dirt and when to jump the line and stand next to your child. I mean for most kids I think they can handle most things that go on in the "system" but when the system becomes too excruciating then something needs to be done. My son was suicidal when he was in school and in the district that we live in for the last 5 years in a row a kid has commited suicide every year!!! I won't take that chance with him. Now that we do homeschool he is doing awesome and I don't baby him. He does his work and he also has chores. He has to do somethings differently and I am constantly amazed at how he manages to do some tasks that he has made up an adaptation on his own and it works great. I think he's still very embarrassed to allow others outside our family to see his adaptations or tricks. He's 14 and cares a lot how people look at him. From my point of view I think people may be just curious or amazed at his abilities but he is still at that tender teenage phase of life where he'd rather not be different from others!
Anyway, kind of just rambling....it's late here and I'm tired.

I like that you care for your child to take on the task of teaching him alot of families can just send their children out into the world without a question asked. But believe me I wouldn't take it back for anything kids picked on me and did it with no class whatsoever so bad that I was severely depressed but with some struggle and hard work finding myself. After being called names like pigeon, crooked arm, duck man, crippled arm Etc... I don't forget those names and thats a good and bad thing good because I Proove them all wrong every day I triumph and bad because you realize kids are cruel and the world is not a big playground. I grew up to be voted most spirited in my class and most popular....now what do they say ...NOTHING..Im just like them me staying in school taught me to be strong and to teach kids not to be cruel and I think I did a good job at that and still do.
keep posting I love you guys when you do that your friend Anthony
