I usually shave the lover halves of my legs while I'm sitting down, but for my knee and above I shave standing up so my leg is straight. It makes for fewer knicks behind the knee. You could also try one of those no-nick razors, with the wires over the blades. You don't get as close a shave, but it does minimize cuts.

You could have your boyfriend shave under your arms for you...and it is a lot more fun that way too!!!! The only bad thing is that he always wants to tickle me first before he gets down to shaving me.
