It says in the original post 'little did he know she would get stuck'.....if he didn't know she would get stuck then he is probably stupid and incompetent which is really bad, that isn't the same thing as saying he set out to injure her, which is what the title implies. It was completely avoidable and the doctor should definitely be liable, but to say he 'decided to injure' the baby is a bit hard. I don't think he woke up that morning and thought 'Hey, I think I'll deliberately give a baby a bpi today' I think maybe that's what mary was saying.

Oops, I forgot to tell you he will be doing a colposcopy? I think that is what it is called anyway. In the event a treatment was needed, I would ask for a referal from him, the OBGYN, and hope that would be covered through my insurance plan. Also I wanted to clarify something, my hubby accuses me of beating around the bush when I talk, anyways........this OBGYN did not directley deliver Ashley himself, he was my OBGYN, but my own GP delivered her on the OBGYN's instruction. Does this make any sense now? LOL.........I will try harder next time to be clear from the beginnig!

Lenni,
Good luck on your appointment. After my baby was born, I saw the obgyn in a store. He saw me and literally ran away from me. He was very uncomfortable, and shortly left town afterwards to another community.
I really wish you all the best, and hope that you get the answers you both need and deserve.

Of course we all know that no doctor wakes up that day and says "today I plan on hurting a baby". What is your point? No one here really thinks there are psycho doctors out there trying to intentionally hurt our children for life. So Lenni used the word decided, do we have to always be so literal. Maybe the original poster was just saying that the doctors choices and decisions led to injuring the baby. What is the big deal?

Dear Guest, you are funny..ha ha ha. I was stating something and how I felt came out in that expression. I am quite sure the OBGYN did not wake up in the morning and decide to injur a baby, however, he did make the decision to have me push and not have a c-section. I see no need to analize my feelings or how I express them, but thank you for your interpretation anyway.

And my midwife decided to twist my baby's head 180 degrees while pushing down on it, instead of applying one appropriate manuver. I would assume no one in their right mind would intentionally harm a baby for life, but then again who in their right mind would do what she did either?
If our unintentional decisions and actions can permanently injure a precious child, we better become more skilled and trained, or we better find another job!
(Yep, still just feeling a little emotional about all this. It is just such a senseless injury, that is almost always completely preventable.)
