Normal size - well when I wrote that I think of an average sized woman - a woman who does not have to go to a Plus size store or a petite store. Does that makes sense?

And the other guest who said it's about the doctors knowing how to do the maneuvers - I totally agree. But it's also about the doctors who are willing to take the TIME to do the maneuvers and who have the PATIENCE to think it out and stay level headed and understand the risks of pulling on an infant's head.

But it doesn't change the guilt you feel when you're going through a lawsuit and you hear all the risk and "maternal obesity" and "diabetes" mentioned. When it comes down to it I have to tell myself that I can't help it that I have low thyroid, diabetes and am obese due to a genetic disease. As to one of the above post, we are struggling so bad that I would love to order a pizza, I forgot what they taste like.We haven't eaten out in months, and sometimes I feel guilty for buying groceries instead of paying a bill. I tell myself I have to do it to take care of my diabetes, so I can be here to take care of Michaela and live long enough to see her be an adult. But I make sure she has what she needs, and she gets to her O.T. and aquatherapy. When I tel her I don't have the money for something she tells me to get her money, "I'll buy it she says". Then I have to go through the whole explanation as to why the judge has to approve to use her money and we need to save it to pay her bills, therapy and future needs. I was making a deposit one day at the bank and the teller I deal with usually helps me with Michaelas guardianship account, and she had a good laugh at Michaela telling me I owed her, her $1.00 allowance, when she has $104,000.00 dollars in the bank I can't touch, and we're broke. If it weren't for my faith in GOD I wouldn't make it.LeeAnne

To the well off pizza and fast food eating, lazy guest. ha ha ha joking. Did you have GD and not take care of your diet? Is that why you feel quilty? Cause by eating all this your baby gained excessive weight and thus SD?

I just want to say that you have all made me feel much better. When we went to seek legal counsel i had to get my medical records and the ones for the ultra sound say that they had limited view due to me being "morbidly obese" I cried for a week thinking that it was my fault. Over time I realize it is not. I only gained 35 pounds and my daughter was only 8lbs 7oz.

Thanks
Kelly

I think that worrying about how much weight you gain in pregnancy can be counter productive, in my two pregnancies, I gained 10 lbs in the first and Michael weghed 6 lbs and gained 12lbs in the second and Gavin (robpi) weighed 11lbs so I think there's no point beating yourself up because genetics can have a lot to do with the birthweight of your baby, Michael takes after my father's side of the family, and is quite small with small feet etc and Gavin takes after my husbands side of the family as both he and his brothers and sister were all 10lb babies and one of his aunts weighed a whopping 13lbs born.
Try and not feel guilty about weight gain, I am sure for the most part it isn't the only factor in bpi.
